The Nacht is a dragon loyal to the Locust and the main antagonist of Quest for the Spark. He was the right hand man for the Locust until he died. The locust's idea was to destroy the world, while the Nacht wishes to make everybody fall asleep, maybe die so he may have control of both the Dreaming and Waking worlds. It appears that dragons, and even Veni-cari cannot stand up to it. Even Gram'ma Ben was defeated by it. In book 1 seeing into book to Tom observed bees and bears fighting, which must mean that creatures around the spark are protected. In Book 2 his first words are "It will do for now," he and Tom meet face to face in Book 2. In book 3, he was defeated by Tom,who was the final piece of the spark. The sheer power of the Spark, the light that sent the Nacht's very being into hiding, caused him to dissolve into the nothingness he truly was.
